Middlesex To Wit

The Information of Jane Shields< no role > taken before
me this 20th day of April 1772

Who being upon Oath says that she lives in Martlett Court
in the Parish of Saint Martin in the Fields that on Saturday
night last between Eleven & twelve o Clock as she was in
her Kitchen Ironing, she heard a Noise overhead in the Parlour
and thought it was the Cat says she came up into the
Parlour with a Candle in her hand, where she saw a
Person now present who calls himself Joseph Lunn< no role > . Says
as soon as she came into the room he Escaped out of
the Window which was Open, that she then Pursued him
and he was Immediately apprehendedSays that she herself
Shut down the Windows of that Parlour in the day time &
put a blind before it on the InsideSays that the Window
was Shut and the Blind in its proper place when she went
into the Kitchen. Says that a part of the Wood was burnt
in the Window where said Lunn or his Companions
had fixed a Candle Says that said Lunn came in at
the said Window by opening the same with an Intention to
rob the said RoomSays he had begun to remove a
Glass in said Room
