The Information of John Padgett< no role > This name instance is in set 3663. taken before us
two of his Majesty's Justices of the peace in and for the
said County the 30th: day of May 1771

This Informant upon his Oath saith that last Night about
the hour of Twelve he this Informant met in Back Lane in
the Parish of St. George in the County aforesaid one Edward Flanagan< no role >
Matthew Poland< no role > Thomas Jones< no role > and one other person (whom
this Informant does not know by Name) saith that he said he
andwished them a good Night and Good luck to 'em saith that some
orofone of the said persons replied Dam their Eyes they were
going a House breaking to which he again said good luck to ye
or words to that Effect, and Thereupon went home and fetched
a Stick and then went with two Boys whom he had assisted
in taking to the watch House belonging to White Chapel and
then desired oneJohn S Thomas Keho< no role > a Watchman belonging
to White Chapel to go with him in search after thesaidabove
mentioned persons who he suspected to be upon some bad Design
and after waiting at the Corner of Church Lane next back Lane till about
two o'Clock in the Morning when Thomas Jones< no role > aforementioned came up whom
he Stoped and Detained in the Care of the said Thomas Keho and
then went a little further and there saw the said Edward
Flanagan
< no role > Matthew Poland< no role > and one other person Saith that
[..] he then said hold of Matthew Poland who Escaped from his
and thereupon Edward Flanagan< no role > and the said other person not known [..]
[..] ran into Well Close
square and there heagainStoped or Ketched the said Edward
Flanagan
< no role > and the said other person not known ran another way
Saith that [..] when he first saw the said Edward Flanagan< no role > Matthew
Poland
< no role > and the said other person not known Sitting [..] or laying upon the
Step of a Door in Back Lane the Corner of Church Lane aforesaid and upon
his endeavouring to Seize ot take hold of them they all rose up
