there was somebody in the house who ought not to be there, that
Marsh and Dept got up and went into the adjoining Garrett wherein
were his [..] Master elder daughter the died who had called them
& ansr. Maid Servant & Many Lowdell desired them to go down to
the room underneath for she was sure somebody was there who ought
not to be there. That Marsh & Dept and Mary Lowdell accordingly went to the two pr. of
Stairs back room & on entering they found the deced lying dead upon
the floor bloody & blood the floor that dept & Marsh and Mary
Lowdell then returned back to the Garrett where his going Mistress
& the other Maid were and Marsh related [..] that
Mr. Edis was dead in the room upon which his young Mistress was
very much alarmed & exclaimed Oh that he should die for met Says
she [..] had not all her cloaths on but Mary Lowdell, who
had called dept and Marsh was completely dressed, and as to the
other Maid he does not know whether she [..] had all her
things on or not Says he did not observe the bed, that [..] in the room where
he first went but afterwards about three o'Clock he went into the
room again and says the bed Cloaths were all smooth & here was
no appearance of any body having lain on it. Says when he &
others of the family went down Stairs to give on alaram he observed
that the door of the room wherein Wm. Tyler< no role > his Masters son Slept
was open. and Dept says he has not seen him since Dept says he
saw him in the house late on Saturday night. Says his Old Master
and Mistress were as he believes at their house at Mill end.

Elizabeth Wicks< no role > Servant to the aforesaid Mr. Tyler
maketh Oath that last Saturday night about twelve o'Clock
Dept attended Eliz: Tyler her young Mistress to the her pair of Stairs
front room where the sayed she should sleep that night. Dept says
her old Master slept there where he was in Town. a that her young
Mistress never to Dept knowledge Slept there before the room the
used was the back room on the same floor. That when they first went up they went into the back room until Dept had get of has of the front room from Mary Lowdell< no role > and other [..] went into the front room where Dept. [..]
she remained until Dept left her and went to bed That is the morningshe
