Jany 1738 Read
to a Choice Immediately Or if they thought fit to putt up any
other Person as Candidate for the Place with Mr Dixon that
they woud Name such Person or Persons But no other
Candidate being named or Appearing Mr Townsend Moved
that the several Orders of Vestry made the 6th and 12th days of
December 1738 And the 25th day of January then next
following when Mr Lloyd was one of the Candidates for
Lecturer might be now Read and the same was Read accordingly
Mr Dixon unanimously
Chose Lecturer Saving
the Rights of the Parish
to Choose by Ballott at
any future Election
Mr Dixon Returned
Thanks
Afterwards Mr Townsend Moved (as Mr Dixon
was the Only Candidate) That this Vestry shoud proceed
immediately to a Choice And that Mr Dixon might be Chosen
Lecturer in the Room of Mr Lloyd (Saving always the Parish
Rights to Choose by Ballott at any future Election) And being
Seconded The Question was putt on the said Motion and
Carryed Unanimously for Mr Dixon And he was thereupon
Declared duly Elected Saving the Parish Rights as aforesaid
And Mr Dixon was called in and acquainted with the Order
and Resolution of this Vestry who Returned his Hearty Thanks
to All the Gentlemen Present for their Favour to him

Carefull & Regular Discharge
of his Office
Ordered that the Thanks of this Vestry be given
to the Revd Mr Lloyd for his Carefull and Regular Discharge
of his Office And that Mr Church Wardens,
Mr Townsend< no role >
Mr Taylor, Mr West, and Mr Maynard Do acquaint him
with the same
