This Vestry was held pursuant to Publick
Notice given in the Church for the Choice of a Parish
Warden or Street keeper and on other Affairs relating
to the Parish.
And several Gentleman present Alledged
That it would be of Great Benefit and service to the
Parish to have a Warder or Street keeper and that the
said Place (If properly Executed) would in their Opinion
lessen the Annual Expences of Casual Poor and prevent
Sturdy Beggars and Vagrants and other disorderly
Persons Wandering up and down the Parish
Mr Maynard Moved that
a Parish Warder or Street
keeper shoud be appointed
Passed in the Negative
Whereupon Mr

Appointed And being Seconded by Mr

the Question was put on the said Motion But on a
Division It was carry'd in the Negative
to lessen the Parish Expences
on Ascension Day for this
Year a Voluntary Subscription
of 2s/6d A Head Proposed for
All who had Passed the Chair
to Dine with the Church

there should be Collected by a Voluntary Subscription
of every Inhabitant who had past the Chair who
intended to Dine with the Church Wardens on that
day The Sum of Two Shillings and Six Pence a head
And that Mr Oswin the Parish Clark should go round
to give Notice and Collect the same a Week at least before,
And being Seconded the Question was putt on the
said Motion and Agreed to
