An Order made the
18th day of Decemr 1740 for
Lowering the Fine for Ward
officess Read

This Precinct Meeting was held Pursuant
to Publick Notice given in the Church To Consider of the present
Fines for Ward Offices, At which Meeting It was Ordered
That an Order made at a Pricinct Meeting the 18th Day of
December in the Year 1740 for Lowering the Fine for Ward
Offices be now Read and the same was Read Accordingly.

A Complaint made that
the Present Fine for Ward
Offices was too low in
Regard the Constables
were Obliged to Do Doubly
Duty

And a Complaint being made That the Present
Fine for Ward Offices was too low in Regard the Constables
were Obliged to do double duty It was thereupon Moved that
a Clause in an Act of Common Councel made the 16th day of
November 1753 (Pursuant to the Power Granted them by an
Act of Parliament made and Passed in the Tenth Year of
the Reign of his present Majesty King George the Second For
the better Regulating the Nightly Watch and Beadles within
the City of London and Liberty's thereof) be now Read And the
same was Read accordingly By which Clause It was Ordered
and directed That in such Wards where in there shoud be more
Watchhouses than one, That then and in such Case there shod
be one Constable Watch every Night in each Watch House And
that the said Constables shoud Watch in their Turns every
Night for the time directed in the said Act.

The Order of the 18th Day
of Decemr 1740 so farr as
the same Related to the
Lowering the Ward Fines
be Revoked

And the same being taken into Consideration Mr
George Maynard< no role > Moved that the said Order made the 18th day
of December 1740 (so farr as the same related to the lowering the
Ward Fines) be Revoked And being Seconded the Question was
putt on the said Motion and carry' d In the Affirmative

Ordered that the said Order of the 18th Day of Decemr
1740 so farr as the same Related to the lowering the Ward
Fines be now Revoked.
