Then Mr. Cracraft Senior moved that that Part of
the Order of Vestry dated the 27th. Day of July 1749 Which
Directed That the Person who should be chosen organist should
attend in Person twice on every Sunday and on other usual
Festivals and to have no Deputy but in Case of Sickness be now
Confirmed and being Seconded by Mr. Phillips. The Question
was putt on the Said Motion and Carried in the affirmative
by a Great Majority.

It Was Carried by a Great
Majority for a Ballot.

Then the Gentlemen present took into Consideration Whether
they should Proceed in the Election of An organist by Way of
Ballott or by a Poll and after long Debate Mr. James Anderton< no role >
moved that the Election of An Organist< no role > should be by Ballot
And being Seconded by Mr. Maynard the Question was putt on
the said Motion and upon holding up of Hands the Church
Warden Declared It Was Carried by a Great Majority for
a Ballot.

Motion that the Election
Shod. be by Poll.

It past in the Negative,
by a Great Majority

It Was afterwards moved in the alternative that the
Election should be by a Poll And the Question was Putt on
the said Motion But upon holding up of Hands, the
Church Warden Declared it Past in the Negative by a
Great Majority.

Ordered that the Method
in the Election Thod: be by

Ordered That the Method of Proceeding in the Election
of an Organist of this Parish be By Ballot and
not by Poll.

Resolved to open the Ballot
on Friday the 3d. Instant
at 10 in the forenoon & Close
of 2 Precisely the Same, Day.
