Reportand Employment of the Female Prisoners.
ThirdThat the Prison Committee be empowered to make
such repairs and alterations to the Men and Womens
Prison as may be found necessary to correspond with and
give effect to the above proposed alterations.
FourthThat the Prison Committee be authorized to conti-
-nue in the House for a time not exceeding two months
from the expiration of their Commitment such of the
Prisoners as they shall think proper who may be desirous
of Employment and not able to get work elsewhere the Persons
so continued to receive the amount of their daily earnings
and to make an allowance towards the Provisions of the
House.
We have consulted the Surveyor and other Officers
respecting the probable expence of the improvements,
hereby recommended and from the best information we
think the buildings may be altered for the sum of Five
hundred and fifty six pounds or thereabouts exclusive of
Repairs to the Prisons which the Surveyor reports would
come to about Three hundred pounds and which will be
necessary even though the proposed alterations of the
adjoining Houses should not take place and we are satis-
-fied that the further expence of carrying this report into execution
will not exceed One hundred pounds a Year
All which is submitted with due defirence
to the Court.
