To the Gentlemen of the Vestry of St. Botolph Aldgate
men
By Order of your Committee appointed to Consider of the Repairs of
our Parish Church I have again Surveyed the same, and upon strict Examination
and that the North, East and West Walls are defective and ruinous that the Pier
[..] d Arches on the North East part of the Middle I she are about one foot out of
Upright, and therefore dangerous, that the Timbers of the Roof are very
[..] tient and decayed, and that most part of the said Church Except the Pews
in a very bad state and Condition, a thorough Repair whereof will
Count to many hundred pounds, therefore upon mature Consideration
[..] n of Opinion that it will be most for the Interest of the Parish to build a
[..] Church, the Expence of which will be less burthensome than making a
through Substantial and necessary Repair, if the money be raised by Way
Annuity as is now usually Practised.
