The Voluntary Examination of Catherine
Doe
< no role > of the Parish of Saint Botolph without Aldgate in
the County of Middlesex Singlewoman taken on oath before
me one of his Majesties Justices of the Peace in and for the
Said County this 10th day of october 1775

Who Saith that she is now with Child and that the Said
Child is likely to be born a Bastard and to be Chargeable
to the said parish of Saint Botolph without Aldgate and
that one Arthur Fraser< no role > late of the said parish of Saint
Botolph without aldgate Armorer and now on Board
the Ship Talbot on a Voyage to the East Indies is the Father
of the Said Child And this Examinant Farther Saith that
Sometime ago She was hired & lived as a hired Servant by
the Year at Certain Yearly Wages with one Thomas Webb< no role >
of the said parish of St Botolph without Aldgate Victualler
and Continued in Such Service for the Space of Fifteen
Months & by means thereof gained a legal Settlement there
That she this Examinant has not Since lived in any other
place for the space of a year as a hired Servant nor hath
She been ever married nor done any Act to gain a Subsequent
Settlement
