Ann Hudson< no role > the Wife of Richard Hudson< no role > of
the parish of St. Botolph without Aldgate in the said County
Scowerer maketh oath That about Seven Months ago one
Ann Singleton< no role > Came to this Deponents husbands house in the
said Parish and brought with her there a Child named George
Scholar
< no role > now of the Age of Three Years & five Months to be taken
Care of by this Depont & boarded & lodged by this Deponts said
husband at the Rate of Two Shillings per Week That the said
Child as this Depont has been informed by the said Ann Singleton< no role >
& Verily believes the same to be true was born of her the said
Ann Singleton< no role > s body on Pennington Street in the Parish of St
George in the said County & is a Bastard & that one George
Scholar
< no role > was & is the Father of the Said Child She the Said Ann
Singleton never having been Married to him or any other
person That by an order of Removal under the hands &
Seals of Burford Camper< no role > & John Sherwood< no role > Esqrs . two of his
Majesties Justices of the Peace for the Sd County of Middlesex
bearing date the Twenty Second of May 1772 the said Ann
Singleton was removed from the Sd Parish of St. George to the
Precinct of St Catherine in the Sd County as to the place of
her last legal Settlement together with the Said Bastard
Child for Nurture That the said Ann Singleton< no role > made and
paid to this Deponts. Sd husband the respective Weekly paymt
for the Nurture & Maintenance of the said Child till within
about Seven Weeks last past When She the said Ann Singleton< no role >
Ceased & forbore & Still Ceases & forbears to make any further
payments or allowance to this Deponts Sd husband for the Nurture
& Maintenance of the Said Child That the Said Ann Singleton< no role >
is Since gone away to places unknown to this Depont. She never
having discovered to this Depont. or her husband or any other Person
to this Depont. knowledge or belief where She is gone to nor doth
this Depont know Where She is or Can be found That She hath
left the Sd Child behind her & thereby as this Depont believes
Voluntarily deserted him & that the said Child by means of
such desertion is likely to be come Chargeable to the Sd parish of
St. Botolph witht Aldgate
