maketh oath That her Said late husband hath informed
her that he was bound to & served his apprenticeship with
one Gooding a Lighterman
in the Parish of
St. John in
Southwark
in the County of Surry
& by means there of gained
a legal settlement there The which information this Depont.
believes to be true And this Depont. Saith that to her
knowledge or belief her Said late husband never lived as
a hired servant for a year nor ever rented a house of Ten
Pounds a year or upwards or ever paid any Poors Rates
or kings Taxes or served any Parish offices nor ever did
any Act to gain a settlement subsequent to his Said
apprenticeship Nor hath she this Depont. Since her Said
husbands Death to her knowledge or belief done any Act
to gain a settlement in her own right And this Deponent
farther Saith that about two years ago she was removed
by the then Parish officers of the Parish of St. Mary
Whitechappel
Middx
to the Said Parish of St. John in
Southwarke
as to the Place of her last legal Settlement
