John Smithers< no role > maketh oath That Several Years ago
he was hired and lived as a hired Servant by the Year at the
Yearly wages of Three Pounds with one Thomas Whitaker< no role >
in Coleman Street in the Parish of Saint Stephen
Coleman Street in the City of London Victualler who
kept a house there known by the Name or sign of the White
Swan And this Deponent Contuined in such service in the
said Parish for the space of three years and upwards and
by Means thereof as he is advised gained a legal settlement
there And this Depont. Saith that he hath not since lived as a
hired servant for a year Nor ever was an apprentice nor
ever rented a house of Ten Pounds a year or upwards Nor
ever Paid any Poors Rates or kings Taxes Nor ever servd.
any Parish offices Nor to his knowledge or belief hath he
done any Act whereby to gain a settlement subsequent
to his servitude as above And this Deponent farther
Saith that he hath three Children to wit Elizabeth< no role > aged
Seven Years Solomon< no role > Aged four years and Henry< no role >
Aged about Seven Months the lawful issue of this Depont
by his late wife Elizabeth Whitaker< no role > deced.
