The Examinacon of Elizabeth Haines< no role > Singlewoman Taken on
oath before me one of his Majesties Justies of the
peace for the County of Middx residing in or
next to the limits of the parish Church of Saint
Botolph without Aldgate in the sd County this
6th. Day of January 1749 .

This Examinant upon her Oath Saith That about eight
Months ago one Mathew Vernoll< no role > then and now of the sd.
parish of St. Botolph witht Aldgate Yeoman Did prevail
with this Examinant to Suffer him to Lye with her at the
House of Mr . John Everall< no role > of ye Victuallg. office Victualler with
whom this Examinant & the sd. Mathew Vernoll< no role > lived as Servtt .
and the sd. Mathew Vernoll< no role > had Carnal knowledge of this
Examinants body and so had Several times whereby she
Conceived with Child or Children of which She now goeth
and is pregnant And this Examinant Saith that ye sd Child
or Children of which she now goeth and is pregnant as
aforesd. is or are likely to be born a bastard or bastards & to be
Chargeable to ye sd. parish of St. Botolph witht. Aldgate
she not be able to provide for the Same And that the said
Mathew Vernoll< no role > is the true & only father of ye sd. Child or
Children so likely to be born a bastard or bastards as
aforesd. And lastly Saith that this Examination is Voluntary
And that she hath not been forced or Compelled to be examined
by any person or persons whomsoever
