The Committee had Ordered that Mr Treasurer should be
requested to pay the said Thomas Poynder< no role >
£500 immediately
another £500 in December another £500 in January and the
Committee were of Opinion and accordingly resolved that the
Treasurer should advance to the said Thomas Poynder< no role >
the
further Sum of £500 in the month of April, the further Sum
of £500 in the month of June, on the Surveyors certifying a
sufficient progress had been made in the said Building and
the remainder of the Contract Money in the month of July
upon the Surveyors Certificate that the Building was
completely finished agreeably to his Contract
And had resolved that the Steward should pay five
Guineas to Mary Gearing< no role >
the Wife
of the Superintendant
of the Prisons
The Minutes of the Bethlem Committee of the following days
were read and confirmed whereby it appeared
Tuesday Septr. 20th.
That the Committee had contracted for Meat, Baking
Bread and Candles for six Months from Michaelmas
And had Ordered that it should be referred to the
Surveyor to consider the practicability of converting the
room now used as the little Infirmary into a Kitchen
for the use of the Matron and of converting her
present Kitchen into a Warming room for the Patients
and report his opinion thereon with an Estimate of
the expence to the next Committee
That the Committee had taken into consideration
the recommendation of the Sub Committee of the 20th
August last respecting the improvement of the Princes
and the Surveyor being of Opinion that previous to
making any alteration in the same it would be
necessary to pull down the defective Walls to open
and cleanse the drains and sink a Well for supplying
