Ordered that the consideration of the above nominations be referred
to the House Committee.
Prison Comee. Conson
of Report of
The Court took into consideration the Report of the Prison Committee
of Reference appointed the 8th. May last.
Resolved that the House on the North side of the Quadrangle
adjoining the Mens Prison be fitted up and properly secured under the
direction of the Prison Committee for the Solitary Confinement and
employment of such of the Male Prisoners (except Vagrants to be passed
to their respective parishes) as shall be directed by the said Committee or
ordered by the Committing Magistrate or directed by the President or
Treasurer giving the preference to those who may be most likely to be
reformed thereby.
Resolved that the House on the West side of the Quadrangle
adjoining the Womens Prison and lately occupied by the Matron be
fitted up in the same manner for the Confinement and employment of
the Female Prisoners.
Resolved that the prison Committee be empowered to make
such Repairs and alterations to the Mens and Womens Prisons and Houses
adjoining thereto as may be found necessary to correspond with and give
effect to the above proposed alterations so that such Repairs and
alterations do not exceed £1000.
Resolved that the said Report of the Prison Committee be taken into
further consideration at the next Court and more especially theresolutionrecommend [..]
