Continued Thursday 28th: Novr: 1793

the Trustees for these Hospitals for the purpose expressed in the said
Instructions.

Resolved that the thanks of this Court be given to Robert
Drummond
< no role > Esqr . for the benevolent part he has taken in forwarding
the Pious designs of the Donor.

The said Robt. Drummond< no role > was then proposed to be a Governor
of these Hospitals.

Resolved that the said proposal be referd. to the considera
tion of the House Committee.

Petitions of Read


The Petition of Sarah Holt< no role > widow of Thos. Holt< no role > the late
Porter of Bridewell was read stating

That the Petitioners late Husband was Elected Porters man in July
1765.

That the Petr: came then to reside and has ever since been resident in the
said Hospital.

That the Petitioners Husband was Elected Porter in Octr: 1777

That the Petr. had officiated as Sexton for the former Porters Wife
and upon her decease was appointed Sexton in her room but when
her late Husband was Elected Porter she was obliged to relinquish
that situation

That the Petrs. Husband had been very infirm for some years
having experienced repeated Paralytic attacks and from a failure in his
memory was so unfortunate as to commit mistakes in the Execution
of his Office which subjected him to an expensive prosecution.

That the Petr. late Husband had been 10 Years a Member of Society
for the Benefit of Widows but that about 3 Years ago the Society
failed by which misfortune a great part of the money which the
