Continued Wednesday 8th. May 1793 .

At this Court all the Minutes of the House Committee were confirmed except that part
which relates to the Treasurer and Auditor General which were ordered to be.
Referred back to the House Committee for reconsideration.

The Minutes of the Prison Committee of the 8th May were their read whereby it appeared.

They had resolved that the whole of the Committee should be summoned as a Sub Committee
to meet every Thursday Morning at Ten o Clock to visit and examine the Prisons
except on the second Thursday in every Month.

And at this Court the said Minutes were confirmed

The Treasurer reported that he had received for the use of both Hospitals

Resolved that the thanks of the Court be communicated to Mr Meux for his kind and
charitable Donation.

Read a Letter from Henry Holland< no role > Esqr . desiring to resign his Office of Surveyor to
these Hospitals

Ordered that the above resignation be accepted.

Memorial of Artsmars.


At this Court a Motion being made and seconded that the Court having duly
weighed the Memorial of 8 of the Artsmasters presented the 31st. January last
and the Report of the Committee then appointed to inquire into and consider the
same doth approve of the recommendations of the Prison Committee of the 9th.
January last and authorize that Committee to carry the same into execution
to the extent of £500 only and that as soon as possible

The said Motion upon a shew of Hands was negatived

It was then resolved that it be referred to the Prison Committee to consider
whetherby anyand by what means the Estates and Revenues of the Hospital of
Bridewell can be appropriated with greater effect than at present to the benefit of the poor
objects thereof and to report their opinion thereon to this Court together with the
Estimates of the probable expence of such improvements as they may recommend.

And the Court was then adjourned.
