The Committee having considered a Memorial from the inhabitants of Bridewell Precinct requesting
that in vindication of the rights of the Hospital and their Tenants the Committee would take
such steps as should appear to them proper in order to induce the Corporation of London to
repair certain material defects in the Arch over Fleet Ditch agree able to the Act of
Parliament.
The Committee had requested the President Treasurer and Mr. Alderman Pickett to
consider of the best mode of accomplishing the object in question with the Committee for
general purposes and report their success therein.
And they likewise had resolved that a Lease be granted to Mr. John Lane< no role >

and of a Messuage on the North side of Wapping Street
for 21 years from
