Continued Wednesday 13th February 1765
Boys so appearing together to the Number of three and upwards
do Draw Lots which of them shall be Whipped, Stripped and turn'd
out of the Hospital And that this Opinion be reported to the next General
Court It is Ordered that the said Report be confirmed and that the
same be Rented and delivered to the Boys and put up in all the
Apartments of the Artsmasters in this Hospital

Upon Reading another Report of the House Committee under the
Hands of John Wallington< no role > Esqr . treasurer Mr. Wm. Kinleside< no role > Mr.
Saml Bales< no role > Mr. Deputy James Rosseter< no role > Mr Deputy Wm. Tyser< no role > Mr
Saml Read< no role > & Mr Deputy Charles Vere< no role > as to the Prosecution of Ann Ward< no role >
for Attempting to set Fire to part of the Hospital Estates at Wapping in
the Words and Figures following Thursday 31st. Janry 1765 Mr. treasurer
having Reported to the Committee the means he had used for the Commitmt Provision
of Ann Ward< no role > upon Suspicion of Attempting to set Fire to a certain
Building part of the Hospitals Estate at Wapping after making
an Insurance on the Furniture and Wearing Apparel in a House
Rented by her Husband of this Hospital in Wapping Street It is
the Opinion of this Committee that such Prosecution shall be carried on
with Vigour And in regard all the Offices in this City Insuring Houses
and Furniture from Losses by Fire are greatly Affected by Attempts of this
Nature and such Prosecution will be Expensive It is Ordered that the
Clerk do make Application to such Offices respectively desiring their
Concurrence in Conjunction with the Hospital to Support Equally
the Expence of such Prosecution which will otherwise fall heavy
upon this Charity And it is further Ordered that this matter be
Reported to the next General Court for further directions therein
It is Ordered that the same Report be and the same is hereby
Confirmed and that Application be made to the Assurance Offices
and that the Prosecution be carried on Accordingly

£10 Mr. Fowkes Gift


Saml Seawell Esqr and Mr Deputy Rogers two of the governors Reported
that in Pursuance of an Order of Court of the 7th day of November last
they had made an Inquiry and found that John Saunders< no role > who served
his Apprentiship in this Hospital to Edward Grinsell< no role > is set up for
himself in his Trade and has the Character of a Diligent & Sober Man
It is Ordered that the Clerk do pay him Ten Pounds out of Mr. Fowkes
Gift to be allowed in his next Account

Upon Reading the Humble Petition of John Saunders< no role > Cabinet Maker
Setting forth That he Served part of his Apprentiship with Francis
Croxford
< no role > and the remaining part With Willm. Tarrant< no role > in this Hospital
by Indenture Dated 10th. Novr. 1752 and by Order of Court of the 10th
Decr 1760 he was made free of this City the 5th. Septr. 1764 and is set
up for himself in said Trade in Tooley Street Thereby Praying part of
Mr. Fowkes Gift It is Ordered that Mr Deputy Roman Mr.
