Continued Wed. 10th. Decemr. 1760

to Examine the Allegations in the said Petition, And another Petition presented to
this Honble House by William Ponett< no role > Esqr & [..] other Proprietor of Lands Indeed
In the said Act touching the Premes And the Comittee Caused all the Partys to be
Summon'd & had frequent meetings for near a Month Together Examined many
Witnesses And as your Petitioners humbly [..] Apprehend proved the Allegations in-
their Petition, But by reason of the Length of the Examinations and the Intracary of
the Case The Comee were unable to make a Report to this Honble House before the
same was Prorogued] And it is further Order'd that the Petition so Alter'd be Sign'd
by the Clerk of these Hospitals and presented to The Honble The House of Commons
And it is further Order'd that the said Clerk do (and he is hereby Impower'd to) Treat
with and receive proposals from the Comrs. Clerk or Agents Concerned in Passing the sd.
Act and Carrying the same into Execution (If these Persons or any of them shall think-
proper to Apply or that purpose) And also (with the Approbation of the Committed
to Agree Settle and Adjust all Matters Complained of by the said Petition.

Trustees Petition
for Land Walham Cross


A Petition of George Prescott< no role > Esqr . and Several others Trustees Appointed
by or In Pursuance of an Act of Parliament Passed in the 26th. Year of the Reign
of his late Majesty King George the 2d. [Intituled an Act for Continuing & giving
further powers to the Trustees for putting In Execution Two Acts of Parliament for
Repairing the Roads from the Parish of Enfield in the County of Middlesex to the
Town of Hertford and other Roads in the said Acts mentioned] being presented to
the Court Stating that about 20 Porches of Land Part of or Farm Situate at
Waltham Cross belonging to Bethlem Hospital and lying Contigious to the said-
Roads is Necessary and proper to be taken into the said Roads In Order to
Enlarge & Widen the same And that all Bodys Corporate and other Trustees are
by such Act Enabled to Treat and Sell Lands for Enlarging & Widening the Sd. Roads
And proposing to Treat In Order to Settle & Assertain the Value of such Land And to
Purchase the same It is thereupon Order'd That it be referr'd to the Comee to Consider of
such proposal and to report the same with their Opinion thereon to the Court.

The Answer of The Mayor and Comonally and Citizens of the City of London
as Governors of the Possessions Revenues and Goods of the Hospitals of Edward late-
King of England the 6th. Christ Bridewell & St. Thomas the Apostle to the Bill of
Complaint of The Mayor & Comonally and Citizens of the City of London &
Ann Medway< no role > Settled by Councel Ingrossed and Sealed with Seale of the-
Mayor and Comonalty and Citizens of the City of London aforesaid being now read
It is Order'd that the same be fyled and the said Suit Defended by the Clerk
of these Hospitals.
