At this Court the Charge was read to Mr. Depty. Levett as one of the
Governor s of these hospitals

Upon Reading to this Court a Report from the Comee of this house
under the hands of John Tayler< no role > Esqr . Treasurer Mr John Barber< no role >
Mr Edward Colman< no role > Mr Christopher Bateman< no role > & Mr Robert Evans< no role > bearing
date the 8th. day of this Instant March to the words followingIn
persuance of an Order of Court holden at the sd hospital of Bridewell
the 29th. day of Aprill Last This Comee haveing taken into Consideration
the Petition if Richard Strowd< no role > Cittizen and Cooper of London Praying a
Lease of a door way into Fonks Court are of opinion to Let him have a
Lease thereof for 21 years at 40s. P Annum Rent, Clear of all Taxes
but the said Richard Strowd< no role > is to Covenant not to bring in that way any
Gross Goods or not Portable by hand and not to Lett the house to a
victualler Tallowchandler, Copper Smith, Pewterer, Brazier, or any other
Trade that may be [..] or offensive to the Neighbours and to pay
his proportion with the rest of the Tenants there of the Charges of
Cleaning ye Court and other usual expences and that the Stopps of the
door to me out no further than Mr. Tildens the said Richard Strowd< no role >
being called in agreed thereto and gave a Guiney to the poors Box all
which is nevertheless Submitted to the Judgment of ye Court This Court
doth Confirm ye said Report and Order that a Lease be made to him
accordingly But that it be provided in the Lease that the Stepps Shall
come out no further into ye Court than Mr. Tildens

Mr Treasurer acquainted this Court the Col William Withers< no role >
Son & Executor of sr William Withers< no role > knt . and Alderman of this City and
late president of these hospital deced had paid him Two hundred
pounds which his sd father by his Will gave to the Governor s of these
Hospitals for the use of Bethlem Hospital and which a little before his
death he declared to his sd son he desired Should be applyd to the use
of Incurables to be taken into the said Hospital of Bethlem And
that the said Col Withers had also paid him one hundred pounds
more as his own free Gift to be applyed to ye same use
