A Letter was read from Dutton Stede Esqr
. one of ye
Stewards appointed for ye next Election feast desireing to be
excused for this year by reason his affaires require his
presence in the Countrey And that it will be a great inducement
to him to do Something which will be very beneficiall to this
hospital and which in a Short time he will not faile to do And
it is Ordered that Mr. Stede be accordingly excused and
that his place be Supplyd by the next Governour in course

The Clerk acquainted this Court that there had been a Suit
depending in Chancery many years between the Governor. of these
hospitals and Mrs.

but they being so intermixt with the Treasurers accounts
which were also unsettled and Mr. Baker the then Trear
happening to dye Soon after Mr. Mount it was very difficult
to distinguish between 'em and to make out a Clear charge
therefore the Comee of this house upon applycation from Mr.
Mount came to an Agreement with her Agent about four
years ago to accept Seven hundred pounds for her part and
to discharge her but her Agent insisting that it was necessary
for her likewise to have a discharge from Mr. Bakers
Representative without which She could not be Safe The Clerke
thereupon Sent to Mr. Bakers Son to Settle his Account who
desired that in order thereto the Copy of his fathers Cash
Book might be sent to his Brother in Law Mr Lutterell
