Gratuity}


Upon the humble Peticon of John Kensey< no role > Steward of
the Hospll. of Bridewell Setting forth That of late Yeares &
more especially the yeare last past all mammer of provisions
hath been Soe dear that he hath not only wholly lost the
Small P quite that was intended to arise to him for his care
and trouble in providing for the Prisoners from time to time
harboured in the said Hospll. but that the greatest part of his
Sallary has been exhansted in making then usuall & necessary
provisions for them And there fore humbly praying such
Gratuity in respect of the prmisses for the said Petrs. Support of
him selfe & family as Should be thought fitting This Court
considering the prmisses Doe Order That Mr. Trear doe
give and pay unto the said John Kinsey< no role > Forty pounds as
a Free Gratuity of this Court to be allowed Mr. Tear in his
next Account.

Also This Court receiving a good Acct. of Wm. Corbett< no role >
who was by the Comittee of Bethlem Hospll. taken into the
Service of the said Hospll. as a Beadle in the Room of
Richard Fancourt< no role > decd Some time before Xmas last
upon Tryall and that he is a Diligent and fitt P son for
the said Service Doe admitt him as a Beadle of the
said Hospll. During the pleasure of this Court and to
have the usuall Sallary from Xmas last.

Also upon the humble Petition of Mary Wingfield< no role > for Some
mittigacon of the weekly paymt. of Five Shillings for the keeping of
her Husband Aug: Wingfield< no role > a poor Lunatick in the Hospll. of
Bethlem She having nothing but her own Industry where by to
contribute to wards the said Charge It is Ordered by this-
Court that Security being given for the payment of Two Shillings
a weeke for the keeping of her said Husband there for the future
that then the same Shall be accepted and the Bond for payment
of Five Shillings a meeke be Delivered up to he cancelled.

Also upon the humble Peticon of John Hunt< no role > Sword Cutler for
Some mittigacon of the weekly paymt. of Five Shillings for ye. keeping
of his wife Anne Hunt< no role > a poor Lunatick in the Hospll. of Bethlem
his said wife having been in this imserable condicon about 4
Years last where by the Petr. hath been at great Charges and
driven to great Streights & necessity's in So much that he is not
able to Trear the said Charge It is Ordered That Security
being given to pay Two Shillings & six pence a weeke for her
beeping there for the future that then the Same Shall be accepted
and the bond for payment of Five Shillings a weeke be delivered
up to be cancelled.
