The Information of Sarah Sanderson< no role >
Spinster Servant to William Martin< no role > Trinder
of Stepney Square in the said County Doctor
of Physick Taken this Sixth day of April
1784 before us two of his Majestys Justices
of the Peace in and for the said County.

Who being on her Oath Saith that as she was going
from Farmers street Shadwell to her Masters house in Stepney
Square aforesaid about Ten Minutes after seven O Clock in
the Evening of Friday the second day of April Instant
[..] in going through the Bar at the upper end of Stepney
Causeway she saw two men at a considerable distance from the said
Bar and near the Green Dragon at Stepney . and which
two men were coming towards her. That she not considering
the said two Men as any other than working persons
was going a [..] Passage by the Parts that goes from
Stepney Causeway to the Green Dragon aforesaid when
going to pass them one of the said two men and who is

violently shewed her against the Pales, put his hand
across her Month to prevent her from speaking or calling
out and said to Informant Damn you deliver what
money you have got if you Squint or look I will blow
your Brains out That the other man came up to her
with a Cutlass in his hand and which Cutlass he then
laid on the Ground and began to search her pocket (she having
but one which was on [..] her right side) from whence he
took one black Mode Cloak which being pinned he unpinned
and threw over his left Arm. That he then rifled her
Pocket again and took from thence One half Guinea in Gold
four halfpence one Metal Seal Engraved IB One Compositior
Stone whereon was Engraved the Figure of an Anchor and Hope
