Examination TextAnn McGinnis aged 28 years and upwards in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields upon her oath saith that she never was married but was bound an apprentice by the officers of the Parish of St. James within the liberty of Westminster for the space of seven years to Mr Cocklin a Child's Cart Maker in Dukes Court in St Martin's Lane in the said Parish of St Martin in the Fields and there served about three years and then her master ran away which is about 16 years ago, that she never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor hath been a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together since. Taken in the workhouse the seventh Day of September 1756 [before] Benjamin Cox.
