(to wit) Ann Harman< no role > singlewoman aged
sixty six years and upwards Upon Oath
saith that she never was Married that on or
about the sixth day of April 1751 shelivedwas hired
as aServant to Mr Samuel Hatton< no role > who lived at a
House called the Cock Pit in the parish of Holliwell
in the City of Oxford at the Annual Wages of £3. where she lived in that
capacity for about six or eight Months and then went
to see her Motherbut did
not stayaway more than two Months andthen
returned to her said Master's service again and
continued with him as such Servant til-aboutthe
Michaelmas 1752when she quitted his serviceAnd
this Deponent saith that her said Master did not
pay off or discharge her this Examinant when she
so visited her saidMother as aforesaid neither
did this Examinant's said Master take any Servant
to supply her place during such Absence but received her
again immediately on her return from her Mother's
and continued herin his service upon the Terms aforesaid without any
seeming-disapprobation or any fresh Agreement
except that she this Examinant offered to serve over
the time which she had been about with which her said
Master readily acquiesced And this Examinant further
saith that she quitted her said Service about Michaelmas 1752 and
hath not since done any Matter or thing whatsoever
whereby to obtain any subsequent legal Settlement
to the best of her knowledge recollection or belief
