The Examination of Thomason Kitts< no role > Singlewoman ,
Lodging in the Parish of St. Clemt. Danes in the
County of Middx Taken the 2d. Octr. 1740 Who upon
her Voluntary Oath saith yt. she is Pregnant with,
Child or Childn. wch when Born will be a Bastard
or Bastards & likely to become Chargeable to the
sd. Parish of St. Clemt. Danes she being Poor and
not able to maintaine the same when Born And
further saith yt. one John Parker< no role > Peruke maker
did begett the sd. Child or Childn. on her Body
she at such time living with one Mrs. Eaton
in Chelsea where he the sd. Jno. Parker< no role > came
frequently to see her & had carnal knowledge of her
Body Sevll. times in the Month of April last & at
Sevll. other times since at one of wch times he got
her with the Bastard Child or Childn. with which
she is now Pregnt. & yt. he & no other Person is the
true & reall Father thereof, And further upon her
Oath saith yt. abt. 4 Years ago she lived a yearly
hired Servt . with one Mr. Henley in Grange Courts
in the sd. Parish of St. Clemt. Danes for the
space of one Year & upwards at the yearly Wages
of £6 And hath not since yt. time Rented £10 a year
Paid Parish Taxes lived with any other Person as
a yearly hired Servt. for the space of one year
or otherwise gained a Settlemt. in any other Place
to her knowledge or beleife.
