The Examination of Ann Gardiner< no role > Singlewoman Lodging in the
Parish of St. Clemt. Danes in the County of Middx taken ye.
15th. Day of July 1740 Who upon her Voluntary Oath saith
yt. on the 23d. Day of Febry. 1738 She was Delivered of a
Male Bastard Child in Bear & Harrow Court in the sd.
Parish of St. Clemt. Danes wch has since been Baptized
Thos< no role > . and yt. one Rowland Wilson since Deced did begett
the sd. Child on her Body she this Examint. at such time
liveing as a yearly hired Servt . with one Mr. Dover in C [..] t
Eaton Street in the Parish of
and he the sd. Rowland Wilson at ye. same time liveing as
a yearly hired Servt . with the sd. Mr. Dover there became
acquainted with her & had Carnall Knowledge of her body
Sevll. times at one of wch times he got her with the Male
Bastard Child of wch she was Delivered of as aforesaid and
that he the sd. Rowland Wilson< no role > was the true & reall Father
thereof, And this Examint. further saith yt. about 5 Years
ago she lived a yearly hired Servt . with one Mr. Jas Fletcher< no role >
in the sd. Parish of St. Clemt. Danes Grocer at the yearly
Wages of £5:10s for the space of one year & upwards
that she hath not since she left the sd. Mr. Fletcher Rented
any House Paid Parish Taxes lived with any other Person
as a yearly hired Servt. for the space of one year or other
wise gained a Settlemt. in any other Place to her
knowledge or beleife that she is now Poor & not able
to maintaine herself & Child
