The Examination of Mary< no role > the Wife of Richd. Grove< no role >
Lodging in the Parish of St. Clemt. Danes in the County
of Middx Taken the 1st. Day of April 1740 Who upon
her Oath saith that her said Husband Rd. Grove< no role > Served
Seven Years Apprenticeship with one Wm. White< no role > in the
Parish of Chiswick in the same County Fisherman
and hath been out of his time 20 Years & upwds. And this
Examint. further saith that he hath not since he left his
said Master Rented £10 a Year Paid Parish Taxes lived
with any Person as a Yearly hired Servt. for the space
of one Year or otherwise gained a Settlemt. in any
other Place to her knowledge or beleife That her sd.
Husband is now on Board his Majesty's ship ye. Cumberland
& yt. she hath one Child (to wit) Mary< no role > aged one Year
and she being Poor is not able to maintaine herselfe
and Child
