William a Beckett< no role > of No. 6 Dufours place
Broad Street Golden Square in the County of
Middlesex Gentleman Maketh Oath and saith
That this Indictment was preferred against
the said Defendant in October sessions One thousand seven
hundred and Ninety seven, to which the said Defendant
pleaded and put in Bail and this Deponent further
saith that the prosecution has not further prosecute
the said Indictment, and that this Deponent has
made several enquirys to find the Residence of
the said prosecutrix but how not been able to find
the same and does not know any person that
is acquainted with, or likely to inform this
Deponent where to find the said prosecutrix
and this Deponent further saith That the said
Defendant is and for a long time past has been
very ill & incapable of Managing his affairs
and Business, and this Deponent was informed by
[..] the Defendants Brother, who is a Surgeon (under
whose cover the said Defendant is) that he the
said Defendant was unable to walk & that is wod.
be impossible for him to attend this Court.
