Thomas Jones< no role > of Lyndhurst in the County of Southampton
Servant coming personally before me James Mowbray< no role > Esquire
one of his Majesty< no role > 's Justices of the Peace in and for the
said County maketh oath

That some Time in the Month of March last he
was defrauded of a Sum of Money by one Abraham Davis< no role >
a travelling Jew Pedlar and that having applied to the
Public Office in Bow Street in the City of London and made
Information of the same a Warrant was issued to
apprehend the said Abraham Davis< no role > who was accordingly
apprehended and thereupon this Deponent was bound in
a Recognizance of Twenty Pounds to appear at the then
next April Sessions to be holden at the Guildhall in
King Street in and for the City and Liberty of Westminster
to prosecute the said Abraham Davis< no role > for a Fraud and that
he appeared at the said Sessions and informed [..] a Clerk
of the Court the Matter was compromised and that the said
Clerk having made Application to the Court, informed him
he had nothing further to do with the Business and that
he paid him for the same the Sum of four Shillings and
six Pence or four Shillings and three Pence he does not
recollect which.
