Grant to John Jefferyes< no role >


We have Agreed with John Jefferyes< no role > to Grant him a Lease of a House in the
Old Baily now in his Possession (the Yearly Rent whereof was but four Pounds)
for 21 Years from the expiration of of a former Lease thereof to Rachel Newnant< no role >
which expires at Midsumer next at the yearly Rent of £10. Tax free In
Consideration of a Fine of £100. to be paid at Christmas and to be Secured by
his Bond which Bond is taken Accordingly.

Grant to John Lane< no role >


We have Agreed with John Lane the Old Tennant of Two Houses in Cronched
Fryers (the Yearly rent whereof was but £11.) to Grant him a New Lease thereof
for 21. Years from Lady Day last (when the former Lease thereof expired ) at
the Yearly Rent of £12. Tax free In Consideration of a Fine of £150. Fifty
Pounds whereof was to be paid on Signing the Contract for the said Lease
and has been paid accordingly) And the remaining £100. at Michas next And
he is to Lay out in Substantial Repaires or Improvements within the first
Three Years of the said Terme £100. at the least.

Grant to Wm. Fewler< no role >


We have Agreed with Mr. William Fowler< no role > to Grant him a Lease of a House
in St. Thomas's Parish (late Esther Bateman< no role > 's) for Thirty eight Years and
an halfe from the End of the present Lease which expires at Lady Day 1737.
at the Old Yearly Rent of £2.15s. In Consideration of a Fine of £70. to be paid
upon Signing the Contract for the said Lease which has been paid
accordingly and the reason of our Granting the said Terme of 38. Years and
an halfe to the said Mr. Fowler was to make his Terme in the said Premisses
equal to another Terme he has of a peice of Ground belonging to the
Hospital on which the said Fowler has Built Three Houses.

Grant to Rebeccah
Denham

We have Agreed with Mrs. Rebeccah Denham< no role > to Grant her a Lease of
two Houses near St. Georges Church in Southwark for 21. Years from
Michas 1728. (when the present Lease will expire) at the Old Ground Rent
of Six Pounds P Ann Tax free in Consideration of a Fine of £200. to be paid
at the Sealing the Contract for the said Lease (which has been paid
accordingly and laying out within the first Two years of the said Terme
Fifty Pounds or upwards in Substantial Repaires.

Grant to Samuel
Parkes

We have Agreed with Mr. Samuel Parkes< no role > the Old Tennant of Two Houses
in Pater noster Rowe to Grant him a New Lease thereof for 21. Years
from Midsumer last (when his former Lease expired) At a Pepper Corne
Rent for the Two first Years and £63. P Ann for the Remainder of the said
Terme Tax free In Consideration of his putting the Premisses into
Substantial repaire at his own Charge The Costs of which Repairs upon a
view made by Workmen Appointed by us for that purpose will Account
to two Years Rent at the least.

Sale of Timber


We having Received an Accot. from our Woodreeve of Seventy Oak
Trees in the Hospital's Woods at Orpington proper to be felled have
agreed to sell the same with the Lopps and Topps thereof to One Henry
Staples
< no role > . for £110. to be taken away in Three Months and to be paid for One
halfe in a Month and the Remainder before more than One halfe of
the said Trees should be removed And the said Mr. Staples is to bear all the
Charges of felling and Carriage and upon Complaint afterwards made to
us by the said Mr. Staples of the Hardness of the said Bargaine We being
satisfyed with the truth of such Complaint Ordered our Woodreeve to
allowe him another Tree.

Lease to be Sealed

We having Observed that many of the Leases hereto fore Granted of the
Hospital Estates have remained unsealed for Several Years after they
have been Agreed for by us For Preventing the Inconveniencies which
may arise from such Delays both to the Hospital and the Lessees Have
Ordered That all such Leases as have been heretofore Granted and have
not yet Passed the Seale be made ready for Sealing within Three
Months from the time of such Order And that all Leases hereafter
to be Granted should be made ready for Sealing within Three Months
from the Grant thereof And that an Account of such Leases as should
