Grand Comittee Ven: 2o: July 1703

Minutes of last Grand Comittee read. & approved.

This Comittee taking into Consideracon the Order of
the last Comittee for Setting up a Shed Covered
with pauliles over the Great Vaull on the North side
of the first Court are of Opinion That the first
Storey of the Wards designed to be Erected over that
Vault should be forthwith Carried up with
pillars Brick Summer & Joysls, and then Covered
over with Pauliles, whereby that Vaull will be
effectually Secured agt. the Raimes and the Design of Building those
Wards [..] will then the better appeare
and it may be a Meanes to Inclime well disposed
persons to Contribute towards the Charge of
Finishing & perfecting those Wards.

Mr. Trear Reported from the Sub Comittee appointed
to Consider of the Altering the East [..] or lower
front of the first Court. & Securing the Crosse Vault in that
Court agt. the Raine That they having viewed the
at Front & Considered of the Resolucon of the Comittee
the last Yeare touching the Altering that front, and
perased the Draft then agreed upon, And Considering
that the Cross Vault cant. be well Secured agt. Raine
by that Method, And further Considering that the
Charge of Altering this Front by making a pcazza
with whole pillars Answerable to the Southside of
that Court will not be much more then the Doeing
it with halfe pillars & pilasters, but will be much
more Comodious Usefull & Ornamentall They
are therefore of Opinion That the sd. Front should
be made with a Pizza & whole Pillars & Sash
Windows Answerable to the Front of the Southside
