Madam.
In the Contract signed by the late Mr: Philip Aldwin< no role >
. the 2d: day of June
1747. is mention'd. And lastly if the Land Tax shall be reduced under Four Shillings
in the Pound during the said term: that then the said Governors shall have the benefit.
of such a ReductionNow as the Land tax was reduced to 3s/ in the pound for the
Year 1767. You paid 1s/ in the pound less: and consequently the Governors are entitled
to that. benefit. which is the reason I have not: sent to Mr: Exley as You desired. As I
have charg'd Your Account with the Five Pounds lower'd You in the said Land Tax:
Which. if Youll. Please to desire Mr: Exley to pay with the Fifty Pounds You mention
I will send for with Your next advice.
I am,
Madam
with much respect
