St. Thomas Hospital
8 Decr. 1737
.
Sir
When you remit money for the Hospital rents pray
let the Sum be such as will exactly agree with the total
either of a half or whole years rent of the whole Estate
that so the bill you remitt when received, may be
divided & placed to the several heads of Account
as they Stand on our books, & as you are wont
to mention, & divide them in your letters: if it
happens you remit a less Sum, please always
to mention on what head or heads of the Account
or estate you would have it placed in port till you
shall afterwards return the rest to make up an exact
half or whole Year. I have heard Mr Chitty here say
that the Gentleman
whose bill you frequently
take, is by no means so puntual a Man
as his Father was. I hint this to you in
confidence & remain
