Middlesex to wit.


The Information of Robert Fry< no role > of the
Liberty of the Rolls in the said County taken
on Oath before me one of his Majesties Justices
of the Peace for the said County.

This Informant maketh Oath and saith that this Day two
Persons came to the House of Sidney Stafford Symth< no role > the Esqr. in the
Liberty of the Rolls aforesaid in the County aforesaid and then
and there Asked Alms of the said Sidney Stafford Smythe< no role >
under a pretence of one of them who calls himself [..] Smiths having had a great loss by the Death of Cattle and
then and there Shewing severall Books & Papers with Peoples
names and Sums of Money against them which they pretended
they had Collectedfor themselvesfor ye sd. Smith and others who were Suffered
by the Loss of Cattle which Books they wou'd not produce before the Justice and the said Sidney Stafford< no role > Smythe upon
asking them Questions found they varied much from what they
had said to him at first and had them apprehended and brought
before [..] Luke Robinson< no role > Esqr. as Ro [..] gnes and Cheats, one of the said persons
said he was born at East Grinstead in Sussex [..]
Perr [..] ness was in Dicoing and Selling of Cattle,at first he
said his name was Batchelo [..] r and a Salesman at Islington
and afterwards he said his name wasBroom and lived
in Bloomsbury and his Business was in Driving & Selling of
Cattle at Smith field The other Person at first went by the name of
and afterwards said his names was Robert Smith< no role > a Farmer
in Oxfordshire and in Driving and Selling of Cattle in Smith field
But the said person who now goes by the name of Roberts Smith
at first went by some other name but by what name this
