the Prosecutor in this Cause maketh
Oath & Saith that the said Defendt. Richard Playstowe was
Indicted on the Prosecution of this Deponent at the Sessions
of general Delivery of the Kings goal of Newgate holden for
the City of London
at Justice hall in the Old Baily
within the
Suburbs of the said City on Wednesday the Seventh Day of
September last for feloniously forging a Writing on
paper purporting in it self to be a Promisory Note Signed
by J. Kynaston Fawkner for the Payment of five pounds
and five Shillings to him the said Richard Playstowe and
for publishing the same as true knowing if to be forged
And this Deponent Saith that at the general Session of
the Delivery of the said Goal of Newgate holden at Justice
Hall aforesaid for the said City of London
on Wednesday
the twelfth Day of October last the said Richard
Playstowe< no role >
was tryed upon the said Indictment and
Acquitted as appears by the Certificate here to Annexed
And this Deponent Saith that the fact for which the Said
Richard Playstowe< no role >
was Indicted and tryed as aforesaid was
Committed in London and is the same fact for which the said
Richard Playstowe< no role >
was first apprehended by this Deponent
And for which this Deponent together with Josephwrght and
Charles Backhouse< no role >
entred into Recognizance to prosecute
before Thomas Ellis< no role >
Esqr. of Palace Yard
Westminster
And
this Depont. Saith he is informed and believes that the said
Recognizance hath by Mistake been returned to the Clerk of
the Peace for the County of Middlesex
when the same ought to have
been returned to the Clerk of the Peace for the said City of London
the fifteenth Day of December
