The Examination & Information of Mathew Broome< no role > of the Parish
of Aimstres in ye County of Horeford Grazier.

This Examt. Saith That in ye Year 1727 he served ye late Earl of
Suffolke as a Footman & continued in his Service for above One
whole Year & near two Years That ye sd Earl during pt of that
time lived in ye Parish of Shelsea in ye County of Middx & for ye
rest of that time lived in Marlbro' Street in ye Parish of St. George
Hannour Square at ye Wages of Seven pounds a Year That
this Examt. has not had any Certain place of abode since he left
ye sd Lase Earl's Service Nor has gained any Settlemt. in any
Parish or place Since that time That he has since that time
acted as Drover for Mr. Lee of Bradford in Somersetshire & Mr. Hill
St. Rotherham & Several other psons That abt. Six Weeks ago he
had a Drove of Hoggs for ye sd Mr. Lee That he has been but two
days in Town & intends to return to [..] Aimstrey aforesd that he
has a Wife, who maintains her selfe,Has 3 Children at Aimstrey
That this Examt did not apply to Sydney Stafford Smyth< no role > Esqr . to ask
or desire any thing towards any loss by Cattle nor did shew to him any
List of any psons names for that purpose But this Examt. did Shew
him such List That yr sd Mr. Smyth might contribute there to if he
pleased That this Examt. did not Say his Name was Batcheler Orgt< no role > he
was a Salesman at Islington That he had not any Licence or
Authority to go abt. to ask or Collect money. that of psons named
in ye sd List had not really given a contributed dany thing. That
he doth not know any thing of any loss by Cattle to wch. ye sd List
referred.
