Whereas Complaint hath been made unto us, Two of his
Majties: Justices of the peace for the County of Midlx (Quor
un) by the Churchwardens and Overseers of the poor
of the Parish of St: Leonard Shoreditch in the said
County that Elizabeth Bates< no role > the Wife of John
Bates< no role > , and John< no role > her Son (aged about One Year
the lawfull Issue of the sd: John Bates< no role > and Elizabeth< no role >
his sd: Wife , are lately come into the sd: Parish
Endewvouring to Settle there, Contray to Law and
that they are likely to become Chargeable to the
sd: Parish Wee the sd: Justices upon Examinacon of
the Prmises and of the sd: Elizabeth Bates< no role > upon
Oath, do Adjudge the same to be true, and that
the last place of the legal Settlemt: of the said
Elizabeth Bates< no role > and John< no role > her sd: Son is in the Parish
of Al saints in the Town of Hertford in Hertfordshire

Overseers of the poor there, or to one of them, who are
hereby to Law, Given under our Hands and
