being unequall & [mark] surreptitiously obtained
the matter of which appeale was appointed to be heard
& determined by this Court on this twelfth day of
July instant , Now upon heareing of what was
insisted on by Mr. Baynes & Mr. Corbett of Coucell for the
Petrs. & alsoe by Mr. Serjt. Darnall & Mr. Northey of Councell
for James Gascoyne< no role > one of the Churchwardens & for
the Overseres of the poor of the said parish, and upon
debate, of the matters in question, For the more
effectuall settleing an equell & just Rate upon the
Inhitants of the said parish, It is Ordered by this
Court by the consent of both parties that it be And It
is hereby recomended & referred unto Sd. John Gonson< no role >
Knt . Martin Ryder< no role > Narcissus Luttrell< no role > Joseph Ayloff< no role >
Leonard Streat< no role > Nathaniel Blackerby< no role > John Troughton< no role >
Richard Newton< no role > & John Ellis< no role > Esqr . Justices of the peace
for this County inhabiting neare the said parish or
any three of them (Quorum unus) to assemble & meet
together at such times & places as they shall think fit,
and to inspect the Poors Rate now in question, And to
examine & consider whether the said Rate is equall
legall & just [..] and
[..] regularly made & confirmed, or whether the same
is unequall illegall & unjust and in what particulars,
and alsoe if the said Rate was irregularly made or
confirmed by reaosn of any false misrepresentacons
And it any of the Inhitants of the said Parish are
unduely charged by the said Rate Then to consider
how and in what manner they ought to be releived
And if the said Rate shall appeare to be unequall
illegall & unjust Then to propose in what method a just
& equall new Rate may be made upon the Inhitants
of the said parish for releife of their poor and if the
Petrs. & the said James Gascoyne< no role > Churchwarden & alsoe
the Overseers of the poor of the said parish shall assent
