Whereas Robert Powney< no role > one of the Churhwardens of the
Parish of St. Mary le strand als Savoy in this County and
alsoe Robert Nicholson< no role > William Soley< no role > Robert Sparke< no role >
John Verdon< no role > William Wilson< no role > Franic Saule < no role > John
Morris

Robert Shelley< no role > Thomas Nichols< no role > & John Walsh< no role > Inhitants
of the same parish exhited their humble peticon and
appeale unto this Court on Tuesday the ninth day of
July instant Settingforth that it hath been the custome
of the said Parish time out of mind for the Churchwardens
& Overseers of the poor there together with such Inhitants
who are of the vestry to assemble on Ascencion day in
order to make a Rate or assessmt. for releife of the poor
in the said parish after previous notice first given, And
that contrary to the custome of the said parish as aforesaid
one of the present Churchwardens with the Overseers
have without notice first given as aforesaid to such
Inhitants who are of the vestry proceeded to make a
Rate for releife of the poor there for this present yeare
in a very unequall unprecedented & illegall manner
and have since the makeing of the same Rate by false
misrepresentacons obtained the confirmacon thereof by
two of his Maties. Justices of the peace for this County, And
that the Petrs. therefore conceiveing themselves aggreived
there in appealed against the said Rate or Assessmt. as
