Whereas at the last General Quarter Sessions of the Peace
holden for this County a County Rate or Assessment of £1600,
Was Ordered and made in pursuance of the Statute in that
behalf And the several Sums thereby Assessed were thereby made
Payable to
John Higgs< no role >
Gentleman
then Treasurer
of this County
who is since deceased Whereupon his Majesty's Justices of
the Peace of this County Assembled in this Present Session have
in Pursuance of the same Statute Appointed
James Jefferson< no role >
of Chancery Lane
in this County Gentleman
to be the Treasurer
of the said County Money in the room and Stead of the said John
Higgs the said

having proposed to give sufficient
Security as the Statute in that behalf require which is Approved
of by this Court It is therefore now Ordered that the
several High Constables within this County do forthwith after
receipt of the several and respective Sums made Payable by
the said rate Pay over the same to the said
