By Adjournmt. On Thursday the 23d. day of May 1765 .

one of the High Constables
of Edmonton Hundred in
the room of Nichs. Phipps< no role >

Whereas at the last General Quarter Session of the Peace holden
for this County Joseph Stokes< no role > of Enfield Gentleman was
Appointed High Constable within the Hundred of Edmonton
in this County in the room and stead of Nicholas Phipps< no role > of
Endfield aforesaid Butcher who had been thereunto Elected in
the stead and place of Jonathan Brown< no role > deceased late High
Constable there and which said Nicholas Phipps< no role > had been
excused from serving the said Office for certain reasons
given to the Court at the said last Sessions And whereas
the said Joseph Stokes< no role > hath made application to this Court to
be excused from taking upon him the said Office Alledging that
he holds and Executes the Office of an Overseer of the Poor of the
Parish of Endfield aforesaid at this present time And that it will
be very inconvenient to him to take upon him the Office of
High Constable till he shall be out of the said Office of Overseer
This Court taking the Premises into Consideration Doth
hereby Appoint John Rawlins< no role > of Enfield aforesaid Carpenter
to be High Constable within the said Hundred And doth Order
that he do forthwith Attend one of his Majesty's Justices of
the Peace of this County and take his Oath for the due
Execution of his said Office.

Cooper

Whereas Christopher Cooper< no role > Gentl . one of the High Constables
of the Hundred of Edmonton in this County hath exhibited his
Petition to this Court Setting forth that he being by this Court
Elected one of the High Constables of the said Hundred of Edmonton
at Christmas Session 1762. did upon Notice thereof take his Oath of
Office before one of his Majesty's Justices of the Peace for the said
County Acting in and for the said Hundred and hath accordingly
Executed the said Office upwards of Three Years that he hath
not now any publick money in his hands And therefore
praying to be discharged from the said Office And this Court
being satisfied in the Premises Doth Appoint Louis Royer
of Hadley in the said Hundred of Edmonton Gentleman to be One
of the High Constables of the said Hundred in the Place and
Stead of the said Christopher Cooper< no role > And this Court doth Order
that the said Louis Royer do forthwith on Notice hereof Attend
one of his Majesty's Justice of the Peace for the said County
residing in or near the said Hundred and take his Corporal
Oath
