By Adjournment on Thursday the
Tenth Day of July 1760 .

Several Irregular and Illegal Pass Warrants made out by
Mr Bell one of His Majesty's Justices of the peace within the
North Riding of the County of York where by the Persons therein
Named have been sent or Passed to this County and other places
very Distant from their abode or Proper Residence as Rogues and
Vagabonds Contrary to Law there not being any Act of Vagrancy
Stated in the said Warrants or the Examinations of the Persons so
Passed to the great Charge and Burthen of the Inhabitants of this
County And Notwithstanding the said Mr. Bell has been
long since Informed of this great Evil in Order that he might
Discontinue the practice of making out Warrants in such
Cases he still Continues to Act in the same Irregular Manner
It is therefore Ordered by this Court that Mr John
Higgs do write a Letter to the said Mr. Bell to Acquaint him
that unless he does not for bear Acting in the above Unwarrantable
Manner His Majesty's court of King's Bench will be moved
That an Information may be Granted against him for any such
like Illegal Acts as he shall hereafter Appear to this Court to
be Guilty of And that it be Referred to Saunders Welch< no role > Esqr.
one of the Justices of the peace of this County to Settle the said
Letter.
