Vagabond Passes.

Whereas at the General Session of the Peace holden for this County by adjournment
at Hicks Hall on Thursday the fifth day of May 1759 It was thought fitt and
Ordered That any three or more of His Majesty's Justices of the Peace for this County
Should Meet at Hicks Hall aforesaid on same day in the Work next before every
General Quarter and General Sessions of the Peace for this County to be appointed by
the Court on the County day of each Sessions as a Committee on such particular
affairs as might arise be twixt the Sessions or be reffered to them by the Court at
the preceeding Sessions for the dispatch of the publick Business of this County
Therefore it is hereby Ordered & and appointed that any three or more of his
Majesty's Justices here present and others His Majesty's Justices of the Peace for
this County as shall think fitt do meet at Hicks Hall aforesaid On Tuesday the
Sixth Day of January next (being the Feast of Epiphany) by ten of the Clock
in the forenoon to enquire into examine and consider of such Affairs relating to
the public Business of this County and to make their Report theirin to the Court at the
next General Quarter Sessions of the Peace to be holden for this County upon the County
day of the same Session And Where as by Order of Court of General Sessions of
the Peace holden for this County by adjournment the first day of March 1759 made
upon the Report of the Committee appointed to examine what benefit had a risen
to this County from an Order of Sessions made the 14th. of July 1757 relating to
the Apprehending and conveying of Vegabonds from and throt this County And
also to Consider of a further proposal from James Sturges Adams relating
to the Conveying of Vagrants from the North East and Western parts of this
County to their respective Settlements and forwarding these whose destinction
is throt this County It was among other things directed that the Treasurer of
this County shod. provide a Book and there in regularly Enter the Account
relating to Vagabonds Etc. And present an Abstract of such Account to the
Court yearly in manner there in mentioned (vizt.) On the County day of Decr.
Session (from Year to Year until the Court shod. otherwise Order and direct)
present to the Court all such Duplicates of Passes and Examinations as
should be returned to Sessions from October Sessions to October Sessions And
that such Duplicates should be referred to the Committee which should be
Appointed to Audit the Accounts releting to Vagabonds to be checked with the
