Order appointing a
Committee for taking a
View of the Middx part of
Chertsea Bridge in
order to repair & amend
the same.}

Information being given unto this Court that Some Considerable
Damage hath lately happened to that part of Chertsea Bridge
which is the County of Middx and which usually hath been and
ought to be repaired when needfull, at the Charge of the Inhabitants
of the Said County, which Damage was occasioned by Some Barge
or Barges passing under the Said Bridge and running to close
or pressing upon that part of the Bridge So damaged, and that it
is necessary that the Same Should be repaired, This Court being of
opinion that it will be much better that the aforesaid part of the Said
Bridge So damaged Should be repaired in Some convenient time
than to have the repairing thereof deferred Doth Order that it be
And It is hereby recommended and referred unto James Clitherow< no role >
John Derbyshire Birkhead< no role > , John Ausiter, George Errington< no role >
Boulton Mainwaring< no role > William Withers< no role > and Samuel Bever< no role > Esquires
Justices of the Peace of this County and Such other Justices of the Peace
as Shall think fit to be present or any three or more of them as a
Committee to view the aforesaid part of the Said Bridge which is
in the County of Middx, and to take to their Assistance Suchable
able Workman or Workmen as they Shall think proper, and to
See where and in what manner the Same is damaged, and to
See and take an Account of what Repairs and Amendments are
wanting and necessary to be done to the aforesaid part of the Said
Bridge which is in the County of Middx to the intent the Same may
be well and Sufficiently repaired and amended, And to make an
Estimate of what it may cost to repair and amend the Same with
good and Sound Materials in a Substantial and workman like
Manner, And also to consider if it be necessary that anything
further Should be done for the better Supporting & Securing the
Middx part of the Said Bridge, And to make their Report in
writing touching the Premisses to the Court on the County day of the
next General Quarter Session of the Peace for this County.
