Order concerning
Brentford Bridge }

It is Ordered by this Court that it be And It is hereby recomended
and referred unto the Committee of his Majesty's Justices of the
peace for this County for transacting matters relating to the
rebuilding or repairing of the publick Bridges of the Said
County and also for inspecting & adjusting the publick Accounts
of the Same County herein after named (to wit) Sr. Joseph

them to meet together from time to time concerning the
new building a publick Bridge called Brentford Bridge in
this County, the Same being in great decay & very ruinous
(which this Court at a former Sessions resolved Should be rebuilt
with brick & Stone according to a plan or Design of Mr. Charles
Labelye an Engineer who had been employed to prepare
plans & proposalls for building the Said Bridge) And to
consider about purchaseing Some ground lying near the
west end of the Said Bridge, which (if obtained) may be
of publick benefit In regard the new Bridge to be built,
instead of the present Bridge which is crooked, may be
erected over the River Brent in a Streight and direct line,
which will be more comodious to the publick, And to treat
with the Proprietor or Proprietors of the Said ground in
Order to purchase the Same for building thereupon the
