Samuel Tyssen< no role > & Joseph Goddard< no role > Esquires and other his
Majesty's Justices of the peace for this County who may be
willing to be present on this occasion (whom this Court doth
add unto & appoint to be of the Said Comittee) or any three of
the Said Justices of th peace to wait on the Said Duke of
Somersett & Earle of Hertford to request the Favour that they
will please to grant Such peice of ground as aforesaid for
building the West end of the Said New Bridge thereupon with
a causeway or pavement from thence leading into the
King's highway, and to know what consideration they will
please to accept for the Same, And the Said Committee after
receiving an Answer from his Grace & the Said Earl of Hertford
touching the Said matter are desired to report the Same unto
this Court.

By Adjornmt. on Thursday the 10th. day of July 1740

Order desireing James
Clitherow Esqr . to cause some
further repaires to be done for
the Security of Brentford Bridge
until the true of rebuilding
he Same And for Mr. Higgs the
Trearer to pay what money
Mr. Clitherow Shall certify to be
due to the workmen, not
exceeding £30. in the whole}

Whereas by an Order made at the General Quarter Session of the
peace holden for this County in the Month of October 1739 It was
recomended & referred unto Sr. Joseph Ayloff< no role > Houlding Bart< no role > . Sr. Francis
Child Knt. & James Clitherow< no role > Esqr . three of his Maties Justices of the
peace for the Said County to cause Such necessary repaires to be done to
a publick Bridge called Brentford Bridge in this County and to expend
Such Sums of money therein (not exceeding the Sum of twenty pounds
in the whole) as they should think proper to be done for Secureing
thereof untill there Should be a convenient Season for rebuilding the
Said Bridge after Sufficient moneys Should be raised for that purpose
And It was by the Said Order referred to the Said three Justices of the
peace to employ some able Workman or workmen to do Such
necessary repairs as aforesaid to the Said Bridge in a good and
workman like manner, Now upon information given unto
this Court by the Said Mr. Clitherow that divers repaires have been
done to the Said Bridge pursuant to the said Order And that Several
further repaires are Still necessary to be done for Security of
the Said Bridge until the next Spring (when the work is to be
undertaken & Workmen are to beginn to new build the
