from his Office}

Whereas Sr. Edward Hill< no role > Knt. John Milner< no role > Nicholas Jeffreys< no role > George
Tarry
< no role > & Peirce Griffith< no role > Esquires five of his Maties Justices of the peace
for the County of Middx being a Quorum of the Committee appointed
by an Order of Court made at the last Sessions to inquire what
money was in the hands of any Treasurer or Treasurers or any
high Constable or high Constables of the said County have by their
Report in Writing bearing date the Second day of October instant
& now delivered into this Court certifyed unto this Court That they
have Inspected and perused the Book of Accounts of Jacob Harney< no role >
Esquire late Treasurer for maimed Soldiers and Mariners And
that it appeared by the the Said book of Account that in the year 1736
the said Mr. Harvey had Cash in hand £193..13s..5d. And that it
appeared by the Report of the Honourable House of Commons That
there was due to Ballance from the said Mr. Harvey the Sum of
£152..3s..5d. but the said Mr. Harvey informed the said Committee that
there was the Sum of £2..10s..0d. to be paid out of the Sum of £152..3s..5d.
to the Clerk as usual which reduced the Sum of £152..3s..5d to £149..13s..5d
And in the year 1737 there appeared in Mr. Harvey's hands £149..13s..5d
And that he paid thereout the Sum of £45..5s..0d which reduced the
Same to the Sum of £104..8s..5d. And in the year 1738 there appeared
in Mr Harveys Hands the sum of £104..8s..5d. and that he paid thereout
the Sum of £41..5s..0d. which reduced the same to the Sum of £63..3s..5d.
And in the year 1739 there appeared in Mr. Harveys hands the Sum of
£63..3s..5d. And that he paid thereout the Sum of £21..0s..od. And that
there now remains in Mr. Harveys hands to Ballance £42..3s..5d.
which Said Sums so paid as aforesaid were paid to the Maimed
Soldiers & Mariners and the Annual Fee to the Clerk as usual,
This Court upon reading the said Report doth agree to the same and to
the payments made by the said Mr. Harvey Specifyed in the same
Report, And doth order that the said Mr. Harvey be and he is hereby
desired to pay the Said Sum of fourty two pounds three shillings and
five pence remaining in his hands as aforesaid unto Mr. John Higgs< no role >
Treasurer of this County to be Subject to the Orders of the Court of
General Quarter or General Sessions of the peace for the said County
touching his disposall thereof, And that the receipt of the Said Mr.
Higgs together with this Order or a true copy thereof shall be a
Sufficient discharge to the said Mr. Harvey for such payments
And from & after Such payment the said Mr. Harvey is to stand
discharged from his Office of Treasurer for the maimed Soldiers &
Mariners belonging to this County.
